2011 Speakers Bios (in order of appearance)

Jeffrey Brock, C.A.P., C.ht. is the owner/director of the Astrological & Metaphysical Research Center in Miami, Florida. Jeffrey’s astrology career spans over 38 years, beginning with a 15 year intensive study under master astrologer Robert H. Ball of Coral Gables, Florida. His extensive training qualifies him to specialize in business and personal astrology as well as karmic, metaphysical, spiritual and relationship astrology. He has been practicing astrology professionally since 1976 and has been teaching in the field since 1978. Jeffrey has been a frequent speaker with the NCGR – Florida Atlantic Chapter and the S.F.A.A. - South Florida Astrological Association. Jeffrey has also specialized in ‘Medical Astrology’. His expertise in the area of health & healing stems from an extensive background in the natural foods industry. He is also a wonderful “star-gazing” guide and has lead groups on field trips to observe the constellations first-hand. Jeffrey has also had extensive experience as a seminar leader, speaker, and is a licensed Avatar master and clinical hypnotherapist.

Eric Meyers

 

Eric Meyers has an M.A. in Transpersonal Psychology (Naropa University in Boulder, CO), and is a graduate of the Steven Forrest Apprenticeship program. With a focus on spiritual awakening, he is forging a career as a unique voice for evolutionary growth. Eric released his fourth book, Elements & Evolution, in 2010. Other works include Uranus: The Constant of Change, and Between Past & Presence. Eric has lectured at several astrology conferences, and was  recently featured in The Mountain Astrologer.

Priscilla Costello M.A., Dipl. CAAE, is a counselling astrologer, teacher, lecturer, and writer with a professional astrological practise spanning over 30 years. She has spoken widely throughout the U.S. and Canada, at numerous conferences sponsored by NCGR, AFA, SOTA, and will be speaking at the next UAC in New Orleans in 2012. She has been instrumental in the organization of Canadian astrology, both locally and nationally. Founder and Director of The New Alexandria, a center for religious, spiritual, and esoteric studies, she is the author of The Weiser Concise Guide to Practical Astrology (2008), a unique introduction to the basics of astrology linking it to psychology, religion, and esoteric wisdom. Kathy Allan

Kathy Allan is a practicing astrologer certified at the professional level by the American Federation of Astrologers. She is primarily interested in developing and refining astrological techniques to improve natal delineation and predictive accuracy. She is a contributor to The Mountain Astrologer and Geocosmic Journal. She has a Ph.D. in Toxicology, post-doctoral experience in Infectious Immunology, and has worked as a science writer and editor. She is the author of the book: Re-Visioning The Lunar Nodes.

James Braha

James Braha is internationally recognized as one of the first astrologers who first brought Hindu, also known as Jyotish or Vedic, astrology to the West in understandable form with his groundbreaking book Ancient Hindu Astrology for the Modern Western Astrologer. He is famous for training astrologers worldwide to use Hindu astrology for its amazing predictive ability, and Western astrology for its profound psychological and spiritual advantages. After learning Western astrology, Braha travelled to Delhi and Bombay in 1983 and 1984. He is also the author of How to Predict Your Future: Secrets of Eastern and Western Astrology, a comprehensive text on Hindu Dasas and Western planetary transits, How to be a Great Astrologer: The Planetary Aspects Explained and Astro-Logos, Revelations of a Hindu Astrologer. Braha is one of the most respected astrologers in America and regularly writes articles for national astrology magazines. His textbook on Hindu astrology sells in India and he is the recipient of the Jyotish Kovida award from the Indian Council of Astrological Sciences. Michele Adler

Michele Adler

Michele Adler first became interested in astrology as a college English major studying Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales. She began formal astrological study in 1972 in Boston with the late Oscar Weber. She has continued her studies since then, while maintaining a career of over three decades in public relations and corporate communications functions. Following retirement in 2003, she began teaching astrology in the Tampa Bay area. Her most recent book is Predictive Astrology: Cycles of Change, Seasons of Meaning, a review of astrology’s major forecasting techniques. She has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Memphis in English and Journalism, and has studied on a non-matriculated basis at the Saybrook Institute and the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. She holds the professional accreditation of the American Federation of Astrologers, and is a member of the National Council of Geocosmic Research, the Association for Astrological Networking, and the International Society of Astrological Research. She taught astrology in the Dade County school system’s adult education division while living in Miami, and also wrote two general astrology books for a Miami publisher. She also contributed to writing the biographies that are part of the Astrodatabank software. She continues to teach and consult in the Tampa Bay area, and is presently researching the 360 degrees of the zodiac.

Scott Silverman

Scott B. Silverman is a ‘practicing astrologian’ in Miami Beach, Florida. His vectors of astrological interest include Ancient Astrology, Uranian, Astrolocality, and Asteroids. He graduated from Vassar College, and has also studied at Kepler College of Astrological Arts and Sciences, and University of Miami. He is available for astrological consultations, classes, and private instruction.
